Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems, Refresh Firefox
The Firefox update feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox profile to its default state while saving your basic information. When you use the update feature, your bookmarks, browsing history, open tabs, windows, passwords, cookies, and autofill information will be saved on the web. However, extensions and themes will be removed and preferences will be reset.
1. Click the menu button and then click help.
2. From the menu choose
3. Click the Refresh Firefox button in the upper-right corner of the troubleshooting information page.
4. To continue, click Refresh Firefox in the confirmation window that opens.
5. Firefox will close to update itself. When finished, a window will list the imported information.
6. Click Finish and Firefox will open.
There is also a Firefox update button in the Safe Mode Firefox window if you cannot start Firefox normally. If you cannot find the Firefox Refresh button on your Firefox version, you can also make a manual update by creating a new profile. See instructions on how to create a new profile.
